The Penstrassoe Building Company was formed in 1968 by Ernest Clark. Starting with land he owned at Penstrassoe Cottage Ernie, as he was known, sold his first plot to a builder who developed Morcom Close. From there, Ernie went on to develop various streets of houses himself, including those known as "Roslyn", "Franklyn" and "Jeryon" Close which he named after his daughter, her husband, and his two grandsons. Jeremy Grigg chose the name "Penstrassoe" in acknowledgement of the achievement of his grandfather.
